As 2025 approaches, I hope you've had a nice festive period celebrating the birthday of the Lord, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
2024 was a mixed year. Prattlebots did OK on the festival circuit, finalist at one big Australian festival but I was still tweaking it for most of the festivals, so perhaps it wasn't quite ready when put forward for some of the big ones. Or perhaps it's not what they're looking for.
2025 is all about 'Flames to a Moth', a new screenplay I've co-written with the book's author, Vicki Stevens. This is a ripper of a book, I always said it would make a good screenplay so 2024 was the year to make that happen. Vicki got very involved during the draft process with changes so it's a co-write and a banger of a script. Of course, we'll see what the Australian film festival circuit thinks.
2025 will also be about Prattlebots in some international film festivals and they're getting a much better version ... I was a bit rushed due to an ill-fated screenplay project in 2023 that didn't work out. It was a good learning experience though, any writing always is.
2025 will also be about a new project with Belinda Missen ... and I'm not sure what else? I have some ideas!
